School Mental Health Services (SMHS) at Educational Service Unit 3 provides school-based mental health support to students in our participating districts. Services are designed to improve students’ emotional well-being, support their success in school, and strengthen connections between home, school, and community.
Our licensed mental health therapists partner with school teams to provide services during the school day in a way that minimizes disruption to learning while ensuring students receive the support they need.
SMHS serves students in the following districts:
Arlington Public Schools
Blair Community Schools
Conestoga Public Schools
Elmwood-Murdock Public Schools
Fort Calhoun Community Schools
Louisville Public Schools
Plattsmouth Community Schools
Ralston Public Schools
Weeping Water Public Schools
Services are available to students who may benefit from additional emotional or behavioral support that goes beyond what schools typically provide through general education or Tier 1 and Tier 2 supports.
Students may be referred for services by school staff, families, or caregivers.
Depending on the student's needs, services may include:

Coping Support
School-based mental health services are provided during the school day in coordination with school staff. Therapists work closely with families and school teams to support students while maintaining appropriate privacy and confidentiality.
Services are voluntary and require parent or caregiver consent before they begin.
