Parents

You’re not alone.

We all want what’s best for our children. When what’s best seems unclear or unattainable, we feel lost. The School Mental Health Services program helps parents by offering the support they need and providing school-based access to trained mental health professionals.

Help end the stigma.

School Mental Health Services brings teachers, parents, and mental health service providers together to increase communication and identify when our children need support early on. By working together, we can lessen the stigma around asking for help. SMHS assists parents by helping them navigate through the challenges that they face when determining what to do and where to go. Our schools can now offer access to trained professionals and parent peer support that would otherwise be difficult to find on their own.

Get the support you need.

Our students aren’t the only ones that need support. The SMHS Parent Peer Mentor Program gives parents the ability to work through family mental health challenges with a trained mentor who has been through real-life experiences with their own children. Parents can receive help through one-on-one mentorship and support group events with other parents.
