#MentalHealthMatters
We know that our wellness matters and that every voice should be heard. We also need to know that we are not alone – help is always available. And when we create a safe space to talk, we can access the support we need to create a brighter future.
Get the support you need.
Three out of four people with mental health needs had symptoms before they were 24 years old. Not eating or sleeping right, feeling exhausted from daily activities like going to school, feeling like you can’t control your emotions – these are all things that School Mental Health Services can support you through. Teachers will help bring awareness to signs like these by talking about them in class and giving you access to help from trusted adults.
It's okay to ask for help. You could probably use someone to talk to if you’re experiencing any of these things:
Don’t want to do things you usually like to do
Fighting a lot with friends and family
Feeling hopeless or alone
Feeling like nothing matters
Speak up for your friends.
Help break the stigma around mental health. If you think a friend needs support, but they don’t feel safe asking for help, speak up for them. Tell them it’s okay to ask for help. Talk to your parents, teachers, or another trusted adult so you can help them get the resources they need.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please reach out to the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by dialing 988.
